Study Of Supplementary Education Institutions At Compulsory Education Stage

It has been established that supplementary education exists and prevails all over the world at present. There are more and more students at compulsory education stage who attend supplementary education, so present educational academic circles pay more and more attention to it. To some extent, supplementary education has its existent rationality; meanwhile, it has an adverse impact on school education and the whole system of education. Therefore, it is of great value to research how supplementary education comes into being, and what to do with the influence of supplementary education.This paper focuses on one of the forms of supplementary education: supplementary education institution. There are five parts in this paper. The introduction describes the problem, current research, researching significance and methods. The first part defines some core concepts and analyzes the causes of supplementary education such as cultural reasons, educational reasons, social reasons and economic reasons. The second part presents the current situation of K town which is analyzed by questionnaire survey and interviewing method.The third part discusses the problems that supplementary education institutions may meet in the developing process, which are not only the limits of the institutions themselves but also the negative impacts that supplementary education brings to the whole educational system. The last part comes up with some suggestions for normalizing the institutions. The educational administration departments need to strengthen the approval, stiffen the supervising and give some useful advice. The schools should perform diversified functions. The parents'unbefitting ideas should be corrected.It is unscientific and unpractical to eliminate the supplementary education institutions. What educational administration departments can do is to standardize the development of supplementary education institutions and make them the useful supplement of school education so the two forms of education can progress together in harmony.
