Since 1949, a group of experts and students in the philosophy of educational came to Taiwan from the mainland of China, and became the Taiwan's pilots and pioneers in this filed. Being effected by the political and historical environment, natural geographical and economic and cultural environment, Taiwan's philosophy of educational forms its distinct characteristics.Generally speaking, Taiwan's philosophy of educational develops far ahead and has a good lead over the mainland. However, at present, few introductions about it can be seen in the mainland scholastic circle. We are more attentive to the studies in Europe and America, but not our own. Postmodernism is a western ideological trend in the art circle and thinking public, which had a tremendous impact on the development of the education in Taiwan. However, in Taiwan and the mainland scholastic circle, researches about the impact of postmodernism on the philosophy of educational are still blank, which deviates from the features of philosophical criticism and thinking, and results in the lack of development in this subject.By using the method of documentary, logical analysis and comparison, this paper tries to analyze the impacts of postmodernism on the philosophy of educational in the respects of theoretical science and practical science, and gives an interpretation of its gain and loss, so as to enrich the content of the philosophy of educational in mainland.The introduction part explains the purpose, significance and methods of this research. By reading through over 100 Taiwan's textbooks on the philosophy of educational, this paper gives a literature review of postmodernism philosophy trend, the relationship between postmodernism philosophy trend and education, and the impact of postmodernism philosophy trend on Taiwan's philosophy of educational, which setting the academic basis for this research.The first part describes the development of Taiwan's philosophy of educational by three phases, collects the statistics of the research situation of post modern philosophy in this field, and summarizes five reasons of postmodernism's effect on Taiwan's philosophy of educational——the inspiring features of postmodernism, the combination of the progress of era and social needs, the crisis of traditional education, the urgent of establishing local philosophy of educational, and researchers'Pan-European and American complex.The second part, which is the core chapter, discusses the impacts of postmodernism on Taiwan's philosophy of educational in terms of pure science and practice science. In the theoretical aspect, there can be seen an increasing proportion of postmodernism's effects in the works of Taiwan's philosophy of educational; the liberation of thoughts, which brought by postmodernism, helps reforming the studying methods; research angles of Taiwan's philosophy of educational have been changed; and the system of local philosophy of educational has been established. As for the practical aspects, the discussions of moral education, civic education, vocational education, education for different gender, and the effects of educational reform increase gradually.The last part is the rethink of the impacts of postmodernism on Taiwan's philosophy of educational. Its progress includes focusing on education practice, taking roots in teaching, and treasuring differences and diversity; attaching to localization, which rooted in the innate culture and education situation. Besides, some confusion still exists: the"great leap"of Taiwan's philosophy of educational caused the uncertainty of the discipline system, and by the influenced of postmodernism, there is a missing in the research of the history of continuous the philosophy of educational.
