Tu Youguang(1927-2012),with a courtesy name Junshi,was born in Guangshan,Henan Province,and he was a famous philosopher,educator and calligrapher in China.He was rooted in Chinese culture and formed a unique educational philosophy with Chinese characteristics,Chinese style and personal style.This study tries to explore Tu Youguang's thought of educational philosophy.First of all,the article analyzes the life of Mr.Tu Youguang,and traces back to the origin of his educational philosophy by combing the education and academic life of Mr.Tu.The article holds that the studies of Chinese ancient civilization he learned at his early childhood,the philosophical knowledge and study methods of learning from Tsinghua Yuan,the profound understanding of social experience and the rich teaching practice all became the important factors that influenced the formation of his educational philosophy.Next,the article discusses the philosophy of Mr.Tu Youguang and points out that Mr.Tu has been engaged in philosophical research for a long time,and has formed his own philosophical system in practice,such as:the ontological thought of special higher than universal,the epistemological thought of practice speaks louder than knowledge and the methodological thought of“only seeing the reality and action,do not seeing the theory and the words”,which all affected his philosophy of education and become the theoretical foundation of his educational philosophy.On this basis,the paper discusses the educational philosophy of Mr.Tu in detail,including:the soul;three Li;education itself;“knowledge itself'and“carrier of knowledge”;from“knowledge”to“ignorance”;the ruminant law and empirical law;the pickles;the thought of lifelong education and so on,and tries to extract the basic features of Mr.Tu's educational philosophy,it's rich in philosophical imagination,full of human care,profound with national wisdom and united in historical depth and the insightfulness at present.Then,an analysis of the cultural implications of Mr.Tu's educational philosophy,thinking he placed education in the field of culture,his educational philosophy is rooted in the local culture,and adopting both outside the box.It relates to the heritage of traditional Chinese culture,transformation of Chinese traditional culture,Chinese aspects of the modernization of traditional culture,traditional culture Chinese internationalization and so on.At the same time,his body is carrying the Tao,the unity of Knowledge and Action,and he performed his philosophy of education in practice.Finally,the article discusses the modern significance of Mr.Tu Youguang's educational philosophy,including the theoretical and practical significance.It is hold that Mr.Tu's educational philosophy have great significance for promoting and maintaining the dignity of Chinese culture,inheriting and innovating Chinese pedagogy,awakening and enhancing spiritual and cultural life.Simultaneously,his educational philosophy also has a purpose of“pragmatism”.It has a profound significance for how to inherit the national culture,how to tap the value of education Chinese traditional culture and how to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.All in all,deeply exploring the education philosophy of Mr.Tu Youguang,not only helps to expand the research of educational history characters,and enriches the content of Chinese education philosophy,but also has important reference significance for creating pedagogy with Chinese characteristics and inheriting national culture.
