Based on cooperative learning, an efficient and practical teaching theory and strategy widely adopted in many countries, this paper demonstrates a research on the combination of theory and practice for science teaching, focused on the characteristics of science course and features of science studying and teaching in junior high school. Also, the rationality and advantage of promoting cooperative learning in the science class of junior high school were advanced and analyzed, and a theoretical framework for enhancing teaching quality in junior high school through cooperative learning was primarily constructed.This thesis consists of five parts in all.The first part is an introductory part which proposes the research background, some important issues, the research methods, the importance and necessity of the research in the thesis.Chapter One is the literature review of the thesis which expounds basic principles, theoretical foundations, the foundation skills and the flow of cooperative learning.Then the existing problems and reasons about cooperative learning in secondary science education were analyzed in Chapter Two.Chapter Three is a case study presenting the specific process of cooperative learning in middle school science classes containing teaching design, specific implementation process and evaluation, and reflection after class.Chapter Four is a concluding part. Based on the results above, plus the requirements of Standards for Science Curriculum, improved strategy of cooperative learning in junior high school science class are thus presented and summarized.
