Family Relations Of Extended Family Based On Inter-Generational Care

With the changing times, the Chinese family is also undergoing rapid changes, there have been many new situations and new problems.The rising proportion of nuclear families,is increasing. But with the child's birth, many families choose to let grandparents participate in the care of children, thus extended families based on inter-generational appear. Inter-generational care can have a positive impact on family harmony of extended families, such as close family ties, children grow up healthy,good for grandparents physical and mental health, parents reduce stress.On the other hand, grandparents enter the nuclear family, family members will inevitably conflict because of cultural, economic, and family history factors and so on,different concepts of raising or competing for the right to inter-generational care are particularly the most common. Serious family conflicts even lead to marital discord and family breakdown. Through a variety of real case analysis, this paper attempt to explore the source of family conflicts in this new type of family that three generations live under one roof,and provide some inspiration for the building of a harmonious family.
