| Document based study and in-depth analysis on digital short video and informal learning are made in this paper. The meeting points of the two are as follows: on the one hand, the knowledge sources of informal learning is diversified, including internet, television, mobile TV, mobile phone and other mass media, which happen to be the communications platforms of digital short video. On the other hand, the vivid manifestation of digital short video will meet the interest of the learners, and thus lead to their informal learning. The theoretical bases of this study are educational communication theory, educational media theory, micro-learning theory and lifelong learning theory. The application method of digital short video in informal learning is divided into two categories in this paper. The First one is using digital short video to help learners obtain all kinds of knowledge and skills. The second one is using digital short video to cultivate right emotions, attitudes and values of learners. All communications platforms of digital short video can become its application platforms in informal learning. In this paper, four application platforms are elaborated by using comparative method, which are internet, digital TV, mobile TV and mobile phone. Finally, two suggestions are made. One is to design a large number of excellent educational digital short video. The other is to improve the public's media literacy. |
