Under the current circumstances, Chinese college entrance examination questions own the function of selection as well as the function of teaching evaluation. So to speak, Chinese collage entrance examination questions work as the direction for students and teachers in high school.After three years'preparation, Hunan began to carry out the new curriculum reform in high school in 2007. Four years later, students who receive the new curriculum education are going to take the college entrance examination. Judging from the paper of transitional period and the papers of 2010 and 2011, some adaptations have been made with no substantive changes. Furthermore, essay writing doesn't transform much in content and style. Corresponding changes haven't been made by combining with curriculum requirements and objectives in evaluation, which lead to the contradiction of teaching reform and evaluation for college entrance examination. A disjunction between evaluation and teaching exists in further new curriculum reform. In order to carry out the new curriculum reform in Chinese effectively, corresponding content and methods for evaluation are quite necessary.Carrying out teaching reform in Chinese class should start with teaching evaluation. More and more scholars reach a consensus that curriculum reform should be spurred by examination reform. Educational department is seeking effective ways to set questions reasonably. Research on setting questions for college entrance examination has raised great concern among many experts. Besides, many teachers are involved and put forward some constructive suggestions. One aspect of improving Chinese college entrance examination questions is to optimize the test of essay writing.The thesis, resting on the expression of'high school Chinese curriculum standards, based on textbook compiling, combining essay teaching in high school, and comparing the advantages and disadvantages of a variety of writing types, seeks and explores the feasible way to make the setting of essay reasonable.Therefore, four suggestions for improving essay writing in Hunan are put forward in the thesis. First, adapt the orientation of assigning the topic, second, increase the score of writing on the paper, third, separate the setting of narrative and argumentative, at last, offer advice for setting question form. Compare the question for writing at home and abroad and explore a reasonable model for writing.
