From the Chinese Teaching Great Criticism which is at end of the last century to the application of the New Curriculum Standard for these days, Chinese teaching always stands in the frontline of all kinds of education reforms. Although Chinese teaching has received lots of attention of many scholars and educators, its teaching effect is still not satisfactory. Many teachers are engaged in various teaching competitions and measure their abilities with others by newfangled methods and ingenious class structures. But that only leaves the students in the dark on some questions. To a great extent, the author believes, that is caused by the deficiency of attaching importance to text interpretation and the neglect of teaching subject's natural interpretation.To take the natural interpretation as an entry point, the author applies Ontological Interpretation Theory, Philological Theory, Reader-response Theory, Aesthetics and Conversation Theory to analyze current situation of the shortage of natural interpretation in Chinese teaching, and puts forwards some strategies towards these questions, at the same time, gives some suggestions about the practice strategies on how to apply natural interpretation to Chinese teaching. The four main parts of this paper are as follows.The paper begins with the current situation analysis of natural interpretation in Chinese teaching. Through the classroom observations, the author finds that there are many questions in actual Chinese teaching. This paper shows them in the form of cases:disordered state of teaching content, the absence of the teacher subjects, the abuse of teaching means, the failure of text interpretation, the arbitrariness of extending the texts.The second part presents the introduction of natural interpretation, the characteristic of natural interpretation, and the theoretical foundations of natural interpretation which are illustrated by the author from several aspects-Constructivist Learning Theory, Theory of Experiencing Aesthetics, Dialogue Teaching Theory and Dynamic Generation Learning Theory.The third part is the specific practice strategies of applying natural interpretation in Chinese teaching, which are concluded by the author as determining the orientation and focal points of interpretation, laying stress on teachers'initial interpretations of the text, fixing on the teaching contents and entry point according to actual situations.The author's several thoughts on the application of natural interpretation in Chinese teaching come to the last part. The author proposes that the effect of applying natural interpretation in Chinese teaching is influenced by the professional qualities of Chinese teachers, the influence of evaluation mechanism and teachers'implementation of new curriculum standard.
