Abstract/Summary:
Kindergarten teacher is the principal part of preschool education, and is also the key to improve the quality of preschool education. Since1980s, teacher professionalization has become a worldwide trend. Many countries think that the kindergarten teachers' professional development is closely related to the quality of preschool education, and the quality of preschool education indicates the result of children development. Therefore, kindergarten teacher continuing professional development is extremely important for maximizing child development. In this context, many countries regard the promotion of teachers'professional development as a main strategy to promote the quality of preschool education. They have began to reform their kindergarten teacher education. At this point, Britain is no exception. Since1980s, kindergarten teacher education reform in Britain has showed its own national characteristics.Since1980s, in order to reform kindergarten teacher education, the Britain government has adopted a series of measures. For example, reforming initial training mode, perfect teacher practice system, implementing teacher induction training system, extending the years of continuing education, increasing the funds of continuing education, regulating teachers' professional certification system and so on. This reform regarded kindergarten teachers' professional development as the main direction, aimed to improve teacher professional literacy, established a new system which initial education, induction and continuing education integration. Only this system did meet the needs of the development of the times, did promote kindergarten teachers' professional development.Based on the analysis of historical literature and the present situation, this paper has a systematic discussion to kindergarten teacher education reform in Britain. In this introduction, this paper analyzes the implications to research kindergarten teacher education reform in Britain, defines the related concept, combs the related research results at home and abroad, and finally puts forward this research method. In the second part, this paper introduces the reason of kindergarten teacher education reform, analyzes the relationship between kindergarten teacher education reform and politics, economy, education in Britain. The third part, as the main body part, mainly introduces that the British government have take series of reform measures in order to promote kindergarten teacher professionalization, including the initial education reform, induction training system reform, the perfection of continuing education system, the perfection of qualified teacher qualification authentication system. In this part of the process of writing, this paper has always been taking the view of teacher professionalization, analyzing how each reform measures supported teacher professionalization. In the fourth part, through the analysis of kindergarten teacher education reform, it makes a conclusion about the kindergarten teacher education reform characteristic in Britain. The fifth part is mainly based on the analysis of kindergarten teacher education reform in Britain, reflects the current situation of kindergarten teacher education in China, points out some problems about the kindergarten teacher education in China at present and puts forward some suggestions for kindergarten teacher education reform.
