The Design Of Theme Class Meetings And The Research Of Practice In High School

The theme class meetings are such educational activities, which are supervised by the headteacher and whose themes are carefully chosen according to the education goals and the students'present situations. All the students in the class are supposed to be involved in these activities focused on the themes. Theme class meetings are quite an important way to complement moral education. If they can be developed effectively and vigorously, they can enrich the students'moral emotions, upgrade their life experience, lead the students to fulfill the moral claim on their own initiative, promote the ego-formation and ego-development of the students'moral subject, improve the teachers'professional accomplishments of moral education and thus to raise the actual effect of moral education .Owing to the fact that the activities in some current class meetings lack pertinence and actual effect, this study chose"the theme class meetings"as its research object. Based on the rich moral education practice from Chengdu No. 7 High School, it applies the theory of activity and modern moral thoughts and theories, explores the design and complementation strategy for theme class meetings and tries to solve the problems in current class meetings.Through the research on the design and complementation strategy for theme class meetings, we have realized: Firstly, all the activities in the theme class meetings should be guided by the theory of the national new curriculum so that the course can keep in pace with the guiding ideology of the national curriculum reform; Secondly, teachers are supposed to know that theme class meetings have the characteristics of"activity"and"curriculum", that is, they are open and of independence, life, experience, and creativity. Under the instructions of teachers, the students can fully show their subjectivity. Thirdly, activities in theme class meetings emphasize not only the students'emotional experience but also their rational thinking, so that the students can reach a better understanding of activities; Fourthly, theme class meetings are aimed at educating the students to reach an agreement and promoting the development of all the students.In a word, only by constantly practicing and researching can we effectively promote the practice of the activities in theme class meetings. As a consequence, each student develops actively, lively and completely.
