The increasing expansion of the aging population has a significant impact on the socio-economic development and brings the pressure and challenge inevitably to the individual and society. The study of social adaption of the elderly focuses on the individual's adaption level of changes in the old age. It is an important guarantee to improve the life quality of the elderly and an intrinsic way to solve the challenges posed by the aging population. Therefore, social adaptation has a great significance from the perspective of the elderly.This study take the elderly aged60and above as the research object and discussed the adaption level of self-worth, physical changes, family status and social association in detail. It analyzes the differences of social adaption level of the individual with different features and explores the relevant factors of the social adaption level of individual and interprets from the two perspectives:self-efficacy and social role. The writer gets the data using questionnaires and interviews and chooses472elderly people60years old and above in Anhui Li community as a sample by systematic sampling and analyses the data using multiple regression and other methodsThe analysis shows that the social association of the urban elderly has the highest adaption level, followed by physical changes, family status, and self-worth. Firstly, the self-worth and social association of the60-69years old female elderly with primary and lower secondary education level have the highest adaption level, followed by physical changes. And family status has the lowest level. Secondly, the60-69years old elderly with high school education and above, their highest adaption level is physical changes, family status and social association are generally, but they have difficulty in adapting to changes in self-worth. The third group is70years old or above, adaption level of social association and family status are higher than the other two types, while physical changes is lower than the other two, self-worth is between the second and the firstRelevant factors of adaption level differences among the Beijing elderly are self-rated health, mental attitude, self-efficacy, frequency of participating in activities and relationship with family. The analysis shows that the elderly whose self-assessment is healthier, the adaption level of physical changes and family status is higher. More positive emotions followed with higher adaption level of self-worth and social association. Learning efficacy is stronger, adaption level of self-worth and family status is higher; general efficacy is stronger, adaption level of social association is higher. Frequency of participating in sports and voluntary activities is higher, adaption level of family status, self-worth, physical changes and social association is higher. The relationship with family is better, the adaption level of physical changes, family status and social association is higher.In a word, the urban elderly have a characteristic of high degree of social association and low degree of self-worth. The elderly psychological factors play a decisive role, while the relationship with family is an important external factor. Participating in activities is an important way to improve the degree of social adaptation.
