The teacher is not only the key of success and failure of education reform, but also the key factor to improve the education quality. The key of improving the education quality in the areas of minorities is to build highly a qualified teacher group. Therefore, how to improve the teachers'professional quality and promote and the development of educaition in the areas of minorities is becoming a quite important question.At present, teachers'professional development has become an important trend of world teacher education reform. Teachers'professional development means that in their entire professional carrer, based on professional organizations, teachers continuously acquire the teaching ideas, knowledge and skills, represent professional morality and advance themselves to be professional education workers. In this process, teachers'active participation and effective reflection are the necessary conditions of teacher's professional development. Moreover, the final goal of the teachers'professional development is to provide highly quality educaiton and facilitate the students to get better development.Teachers'professional development puts forward highly demand on teachers'professional knowledge, professional skills, professional attitude and etc.The teachers'further education is one of the most effective ways to promote teachers'professional development. The model of teachers'further education is the key factor which influences the quality of further education. Therefore, how to improve the model of further education becomes the key step to improve the teachers'professional development.Based on analysis of age requirement of teachers'professional development and the current situation of teachers'further education model, the research points out the existing questions of elementary and secondary school teachers'further education model in the areas of minorities from nine aspects which include further education plan, idea, implementing subject, content, object, pattern, method, managemet and evaluation, and then raise some advice on optimizing the continuous education model. Moreover, the research aims at advancing teachers'professional development by optimizing the further education model. The research mainly adopts the documentary and case analysis method. The innovative point of research is to propose some advice to optimize teachers'further education model of the elementary and secondary in the areas of minorities from the perspective of teachers'professional development.The research includes five parts:The first chapter:introduction. It includes the question raised, the definition of concept, the design of research and methods, the purpose and value of research.The second chapter:literature review and explanation of the theory.The literature review is the summary of the history and current researchs of the model of teachers'further education. On the basis of literature review, we put forward some advice. The basic theory of research is the theory of teachers'professional development. It includes two parts:the stage theory of teachers'professional development and the content theory of teachers'professional development.The third chapter:The current situation of the elementary and secondary school teachers'further education models and the analysis of reasons. Based on the present analysis, it points out exsiting questions from plan, idea, implementing subject, content, object, pattern, method, management and evaluation of continuing education and analyses the reasons of questions.The forth chapter:the exploration of the further education model of promoting elementary and secondary school teachers'professional development in the areas of minorities. Based on analysis of the above research, we put forword the principles and measures of the further education model of promoting elementary and secondary school teachers'professional development in the areas of minorities.The fifth chapter:the construction of school further education model of elementary and secondary teachers in the areas of minorities. With the background of shifting down the implementation of teacher's further education, the active exploration about school further education model will make positve significance to improve the quality of elementary and secondary school teachers'further education.
