Design&Develop Operating System Of Alumni At University Based On Reverse Working Model

As an important social resource, alumni is becoming more and more important for colleges and universities. Since the resumption of college and university entrance examination late in1970's, alumni work has gone through the process from seldom to common, from single organization to whole layout, and it has got great improvement on both theoretical researches and working practices. It is the demand of college and university development to protect and make use of alumni resources, also the service extension of high education. Currently, domestic colleges and universities attach great importance to alumni work, and the innovation of working mechanism makes the alumni work to be unprecedented trends. Shanghai University of Electric Power built up alumni office in2007, but it has not be listed in the university's strategic planning, and has not system consideration, so it is hard to fully develop the alumni work. It is very urgent to change currently organization and build up an efficient and systematic operation. This project accomplishes the following tasks:(1) Analysis and research the development path, organization and working characteristic of the alumni work in oversea university especially in US university, it is implication for domestic alumni work.(2) Analysis the development path, current situation and their pros and cons of the alumni work in domestic university, and also analysis their challenge and opportunities.(3) Based on the analysis of Shanghai University of Electric Power and the implication of both domestic and foreign university's advanced working experience, we design a complete ideal operation system of the alumni work via reverse design concept from terminal end of alumni, and also build up an organization to ensure alumni system works efficiently.Applying the theory and method of project management to non-profit organization to deliver intangible service product, and integration of project management and administration management theory, this is the new attempt for project management. This project research and develop alumni work operation system, taking alumni work as a key to penetrate, introducing the concept of project management, using reserve working model, and basing on Shanghai University of Electric Power actual situation.
