The opening of the course of Inquiry Learning is an international curriculum reform tendacy. It meets the requirements of Quality Education. Schools in rural areas, as well as the schoolsinurban areas, shoulders the burdens of cultivating students and they should also serve the students'initiative and develop students'lifelong learning abilities. Students in rural areas need the spirits of innovation and practical ability because they are faced with the challenges of the era of knowledge economy.However, there are a series of problems in the practice of the Inquiry Learning in rural senior high schools. Meanwhile, there are some characteristics. The study of this subject is of noticeable theoretical value and positive instructive significance to the implementations, enrichment and development of Inquiry Learning in rural areas. Especially, it is of far-reaching implications for the implementatins of new curriculum.This study, which is focused on students of rural high school, refers to a large number of documents in order to explore the far-reaching implications of Inquriy Learning on them based on empirical researches. It praides insights into the practice of the program in No.4Middle School of Liuyang. It summed up the experience of carrying out Inquiry Learning in No.4Middle School of Liuyang in order to actively promote it.The main research results are the following:Firstly:it further sum up the characteristics and significance of Inquiry Learning in senior high schools. It embodies the integration of interdisciplinary knowledge. Meanwhile, an extension of the high school curriculum programs and expanding. Also, it embodies the exploration of combining direct and indirect experience. It is a complementary to other curriculums in order to achieve the teaching goals, which is beneficial for the development of the comprehensivecapacity.Secondly, it presents the successful experience of Inquiry Learning in No.4Middle School of Liuyang.Thirdly, it explores the problem solving strategies and then put forward some suggestions as follows:the opening of the course of Inquiry Learning should focus on diversity, effectiveness and organization according to local conditions. Only by combining the strengths from schools, society and families together, can we promote the further improvements and implementations of the course.
