Golf came into being in the14th or15th Century. The Chinese name is the transliteration of English word "golf, the acronym for "green"," oxygen","light" and "foot". Nowadays, Golf has been more and more popular in the world for its unique charm and great challenge. With the rise of the consumer consciousness and people's spare time as well as the increased number of people who are fond of golf, the number of golf courses has also increased accordingly. However, most of the golf clubs in our country were in the red, which has not only troubled golf managers, but also impacted the sound development of golf in our country. On the basis of the adequate research on the development history and the management status of golf clubs in South Korean and through the comparative analysis of the management status of golf clubs in our country and in South Korean, this paper tries to find out the problems in the development of golf clubs in our country. Hereafter, the paper strives to explore the management mode of development of golf clubs suitable for China's national conditions so as to promote the sound and sustainable development of golf industry in China. The study subject of this paper is the golf clubs in China and in South Korean. This paper adopts many research methods such as documentation, questionnaire, expert interview, comparison and mathematical statistics. Based on the research and development status of golf clubs at home and abroad, the author focuses on the detailed analysis of development status and management domain of golf clubs in China and in South Korean. The study results show as follows:1. The difference of marketing positioning of golf project development in China and in South Korean:in South Korean, since golf marketing operation is the guarantee of investment return, operations management is the core of Golf clubs; however, in China, Golf clubs are established on the basis of enclosure and investment return comes from real estate development, so operational management has not been regarded as a promising move of golf clubs.2. The big gap between the number of golf fans in China and in South Korean:in South Korean, with12%of the population as golf fans, golf has become one of the fitness, recreational and entertainment projects and its wholesale operation during the operational management has brought about a vast market; however, in China, the0.02%of the population as golf fans makes golf mysterious and its operational management in low transparency and in different development levels.3. With a broad country territory, there is a huge difference in China's regional economy development, whereas in South Korean, there is little such difference. But the urban and suburban differences still exist:China's population and policies have resulted in a geometric increase in cities and towns. And many golf clubs in the suburbs have been surrounded by cities. Stimulated by the high value of land, the operational management of golf clubs has been distorted by many external factors, while the insufficient customers in some suburbs and backward areas have resulted in the localized management of the operational management of golf clubs deviating from its purposes. However in South Korean, golf clubs in the city center are mainly nonprofit public courses in a unified management model. Small size of country territory makes its operational management, only with some construction cost difference in suburban golf clubs.
