This paper has reviewed the research status of helplessness theory and found out that few people apply the achievements of research on helplessness theory to resolve the difficulties of high school physics teaching and study at present. Then it has analyzed the psychological features of the students who feel helpless on physics study. The features are divided into several aspects which contain the negative trend of psychological development, the wrong attribution of physics study result, the low self-efficacy and the low motivation to success. And based on the aforementioned two steps, I have adopted the methods of questionnaires, interviews and experiments to investigate the reasons of helplessness of high school physics study. By counting and analyzing the result of the investigation, I have found the reasons why students feel helpless while studying physics contain not only the internal reason(the self-factors of students), but also the external reason (school, family and society). In the external reason the school factor is the main reason, and in the school reason the teacher factor is in the main status. Finally I have proposed the strategy on the aspects of students' behavior, teachers' teaching method, family and society from the views of education by connecting the features of high school physics teaching and the experience of my own practice on teaching battles with the aim at solving problem and focus on the reasons of helplessness of physics study and the psychological features of the students who feel helpless.
