Learned Helplessness(LH) is a special state of mind after some onesuffered failure. This theory derived from an experiment of dog. Then people find thatit also can apply to human beings. And now a lot of psychologists and educationalistuse this theory in teaching. This paper gives us a concept of LH in physics learning.LHof physics learning is defined as a state of desperation after student fail in physicsexam.Senior one is an important period of student. The great significance of thisresearch is that we want to find a way to make students happy and healthy when theylearn physics. The chapter2of this paper is a questionnaire survey. It shows us that the LH insenior one students is not outstanding. But some students are still feel helplessness inhigh school physics learning. So it is necessary for us to find a way to help thosestudent who have already gotten LH.And help those who dose not get LH stay awayfrom LH.The chapter3tells us the reason why the student may get in LH. For thesubjective factors, the anxiety in exam, the wrong learning goal, the wrong attributionalpattern are the things what we main talking about. For the objectivefactors, social, family and school are involved. And I think above all the reasons theteacher’s teaching method is the most important thing. The chapter4is the countermeasure of LH. If a student wants to get out of LH,he must learn the way to conquer exam anxiety, make a learning goal which fithimself and find the right way to explain failure. In addition to this, social, family andschool must create a better environment of learning for students. This chapter also involves some example of physics teaching.
