With the continuous deepening of our high schools' reform in sports educationsystem, pushing forward the development of quality-oriented education, improving thequality of teaching and optimizing teaching resources have become the most essentialpoint of this reform. The reform and improving the quality of education requires usfirstly to understand the features of modern teaching, which mean that all of the schools'teaching activities and the key of teaching should give priority to the task of cultivatingstudents' ability of self-study and creative ability, thus making themselves the masters inthe course of study. Asynchronous teaching method should be applied in the teachingprocess so as to fully exert the guiding role of teachers in the process of study, whichexactly reflects the objective laws of modern teaching, for cultivating students' abilityof self-study and creative ability is the fundamental guarantee of improving the qualityof teaching as well as the starting point and goal of our high schools' education reform. In the course of applying asynchronous teaching method, the teacher should formulateresponding teaching goals according to the differences between individual students andarrange them to study and practice in different study groups that suit for them. Throughthis way, every student can feel the joy of success, thus greatly strengthening theirconfidence and fully mobilizing their enthusiasm and initiative of study, which helpsstudents improve their performances. All of these are what traditional teaching methodlacks. According to the salient features of tennis teaching and relevant research fruits ofthe asynchronous teaching method, this experimental study will contrast and analyze thedifferent teaching results of applying asynchronous teaching method and traditionalteaching method in the process of forehand and backhand teaching in Wuhan highschool's tennis elective course. The purpose of this study is to explore the differences oftwo teaching methods in the fields of improving students' learning abilities, teachers'teaching abilities and students' performances, of which the key lies in discussing theadvantages of asynchronous teaching method compare with traditional teaching methodand providing further references for improving the quality of teaching in the process offorehand and backhand teaching in Wuhan high school's tennis elective course and the reform in the national high schools' tennis teaching practice.By adopting some research methods like documentary analysis method, surveyresearch, questionnaire method and logical analysis, etc and combing relevant theoriesconcerning asynchronous teaching method, this thesis carries on study of and researchon the teaching contents, purposes, teaching procedure and evaluation methods in theprocess of forehand and backhand teaching in Wuhan high school's tennis electivecourse by adopting asynchronous teaching method, controls the whole process ofteaching and finally adopts experimental research on contrasting the teaching results ofusing adopting asynchronous teaching method and traditional teaching methodrespectively by adopting teaching experiment method. Before the experiment, surveyanalysis is carried out to ensure the similarities of the students from experimental classand contrast class in terms of their health conditions, tennis skills and tennis firstmotivation, etc. After the experiment, however, the statistics shows that those factorsbegin to show their differences between the two classes of students, and students fromthe experimental class do better than students from the contrast class in general whiletaking all the factors into consideration. And the T-test also shows that the differencesare significant (P<0.05), which proves that the application of asynchronous teachingmethod in the process of forehand and backhand teaching in Wuhan high school's tenniselective course is feasible and effective.
