Mineral resources, which are non-renewable, can provide essential raw material for the social economic development. And the sustainable development of the mineral resources has become the hot topics among the experts. To ensure the sustainable utilization of resources and ecological environmental development, the mineral resource, as an important development foundation in Chenzhou, has the capacity of loading environment and economy. With rapid development of country's economy, the rich mineral resource of Chenzhou city has been mining fully. Under such circumstances, the ecological environment has been destroyed and the reserves of mineral resources were running down steadily. Therefore, how to realize the sustainable development among mineral resources, ecological environment and economic resources is an important research direction in the field of resource study.Take the mineral resource of Chenzhou as research project, this paper brought in the matrix evaluation mode and selected relevant indicators of mineral resources which have a major impact on resources. This step was based on the theory of sustainable development, bearing capacity. The paper focused on the evaluation of ecological carrying capacity of Chenzhou mineral resource and the economical carrying capacity of iron and coal. The ecological carrying capacity of Chenzhou from 2005 to 2009 has been studied in the paper. By the analytic hierarchy process, we expert marked the selected indicators and computed the weight of influenced factors. By standardization the weight and the index, we worked out the results through the model. The results showed that the integrated ecological carrying capacity of resource in Chenzhou City is overloading. Overall speaking, the ecological carrying capacity is on the rise and the year data is better and approaching to the safe level. However, there were still some years in an unsafe level. The population pressure indicators were on the unsafe level from 2005 to 2007, and reached safe level in 2008. It indicated that the population of Chenzhou was growing fast and the population density was relatively large. From the results of city economy pressure data, we knew that the index reached a relative secure level in 2005, 2006,2007 and 2008 was less secure year, By analysis results of coal and iron economical carrying capacity, we come to realize that the coal resource development in Chenzhou was unbalance and the its carrying capacity can't afford the economy sustainable development with the growing consuming of natural resource. The iron carrying capacity index was above Zero, but it will below it during the 2011-2015. Based on the analysis results of mineral resource carrying capacity, the paper brought out some suggestions about improving the mineral resources carrying capacity from the aspects of technology,sustainability etc.
