Shanxi is rich in coal resources, the coal resources to accelerate our country city to change a course, promote career of modernization of our country socialism development and enhance the comprehensive national strength played an important role in the process. Coal resource mining area due to coal mining and development, rely mainly on coal resource industry to support the whole mining area economic development, it has a strong resource directivity. In today’s attention to realize the sustainable development of this era subject research appears especially urgent. How about a resource mining area sustainable development comprehensive evaluation, through the evaluation, it is clear that at present resource of mining area development level and so on and so on, only the establishment of a systematic, scientific, practical and feasible evaluation index system, to make a comprehensive evaluation, the evaluation result, from the results found, find out the reason, and then an antidote against the disease, so as to gradually guide the resource mining area go on the road of sustainable development.For this to west hill mining area as an example to study the regional environmental carrying capacity problem. Mining resources development and sustainable development of mining under mine resources environmental capacity constraints, to maintain the sustainable development of mining area, it is necessary to study mining area environment bearing capacity.
