An Empirical Analysis On The Relationship Between The Industrial Structure Of The Pilot Area In Changjitu And The Economic Growth In Jilin Province

Industrial structure has a close relationship with economic development. Under certain circumstances, industrial structure, as the bases of economic growth, will advance economic growth, and in return will make changes according to the growth. It can be seen from the economy history in the world that industrial structure and economic development are closely related, helping each other and growing together. Thus, economists both domestic and overseas have conducted lots of studies on the relations between economic growth and the change of industrial structure. Based on the results made by many economists, this paper is going to give an empirical analysis on the relationship between the industrial structure of the pilot area in Changjitu's development and opening and the economic growth in Jilin Province.The paper, focusing on the above context, can be divided into six chapters:Chapter one is an introduction, which introduces the background of the selected topic, the significance of the research , and the paper's content and research methods. It also makes a summary of the present research both at home and abroad.Chapter two is an overview of industrial structure theories and economic growth theories from the perspective of their concepts, development courses and factors that influence industrial structure change. It also gives a simple explanation on how industrial structure change and economic growth are connected.Chapter three shows the development features in the industrial structure of the pilot area in Changjitu's development and opening during the economic growth of Jilin Province. Firstly, this part will give a brief summary of the economic development in Jilin Province from the year 1978 to 2009. Secondly, based on the survey of the pilot area and its strategic significance, this chapter analyses the development features in the industrial structure of the pilot area so as to acknowledge the relationships between it and the economic growth.Chapter four offers an empirical analysis on the relationship between the industrial structure of the pilot area and the economic growth in Jilin Province. By analysing ADF test, co-integration test, and Granger test according to the index data of the industrial structure of the pilot area and the one of the economic development in Jilin Province between the year 1978 and 2009, the quantitative relationship between the industrial structure of the pilot area and the economic growth in Jilin Province can be found.Chapter five is mainly about the analysis of the role the industrial structure of the pilot area has made in economic growth. Coupled with the quantitative relationship above, chapter five is going to provide the basis for the policies in and the industrial structure of the pilot area from the macroscopic perspective of the factors in the industrial structure of the pilot area that advance or restrict the economic growth in Jilin Province .Chapter six provides countermeasures and suggestions on the perfection of the industrial structure of the pilot area in Changjitu's development and opening.
