Research Of Production Management System For High-speed Train Bogie Manufactory Project

With the rapid development of high-speed train at home and abroad, the requirement for high-speed train increase fast, and the order of various types of train also increase continuously. For passenger train manufacturers, it's not only an opportunity, but also a challenge. However, because of the long term of nationalization, the passenger car manufacturers must face to some old problems, such as the production cycle is too long, low production efficiency, instable production quality, disordered production management, and so on. These issues are now more serious due to the pressing schedule and high technology requirement of high speed train project. To change this situation, manufacturers should keep exploring and innovating, try to choose their own production management system, and improve the management capacity.Most of the traditional manufacturing enterprises is based on standardized mass production, which could maximize use of resources, save costs and ensure the quality. But this mode of production is not linked to customer requirement closely. In today's market with globalized economy and technology, the enterprise, which can meet customer requirements fastest for customized products, will take up the highly competitive position. Therefore, mass customization mode is necessary. The purpose of mass customization is to produce the customized products according to customers'requirement with the same cost, same efficiency and same quality of standardized mass production.The core theory of mass customization is modularization. There are many types of passenger trains. It takes long time cycle and high cost from the design stage, to planning, organizing and production implementation for each separate type of train. But with modularization, customization and standardized mass production can be combined with full use of resources. With the increasing orders, the theory of mass customization is important for analysis of the passenger train production management. At first, this paper describes the background of this subject and the current research status. Then it analyses the development of production management system and introduces some of the modern production management systems. After that, the paper takes the bogie as a typical customized product for example, discusses the problem of production management system of the bogie manufactory, and proposes the idea of mass customization to improve the design, organization and production management system. During the analysis of improvement, it also takes lean thinking theory as a compensatory way. In the conclusion of the paper, it summarized the content of this work and some points which need to be improved.
