With the increasing scarcity of land resources and the rising of land prices, in order to meet growing of enterprise customer demand for the storage and distribution, construction of the multi-level distribution center become the important measure of logistics enterprises. Like Single distribution center, the layout optimization is also the important content of the multi-level distribution center, reasonable product layout will help shortening the storage handling time, reducing storage, picking and replenishment and other costs. Therefore, the research of multi-level distribution center product layout optimization has important theoretical and practical significance for improving order processing efficiency, improving customer service levels, reducing the cost of multiple distribution centers. Basing on summarizeing and analysing the products layout' theory and research of distribution centers, integrated application of probability theory, operations research, computer simulation and algorithm design theory, this paper considers multi-level distribution center as the study object, in-depth analyse of the product layout optimization problem, establish the elevator simulation model and product layout optimization model, and improve the traditional genetic algorithm.First of all, the premise of limited capacity in the elevator, from the perspective of products were reached, based on the principle of priority in response to high-level calling, the paper used AutoMod software's vehicle system to simulate elevator operation in a 4-layer distribution center, got the average waiting time of each layer of products, and analyzed the changes in the lift capacity what impact on the simulation results. Secondly, based on AutoMod simulation, considering the average waiting time, movement time of vertical and horizontal direction, product-related, product turnover and so on, construct multi-distribution center product layout optimization model, what is "the shortest time, the most relevant" as the goal, the product identity and space limit as the constraints. Thirdly, in order to solve the product layout optimization model, and get the optimal product layout of multi-layer distribution center, based on the traditional genetic algorithm, used the weight coefficient to construct the fitness function, improved the selection operator, crossover operator and mutation operator. Finally, the paper used an example of the XX multiple distribution centers to verify the simulation model of the elevator, the product layout optimization model and algorithm.
