Sichuan has 43 municipal districts, in this paper, for the 43 municipal districts to conduct systematic research, including its history, population size, structure, etc. From these studies can be found in Sichuan Province and the municipal districts of the development of the difficulties faced, which gives the path of development chosen. The purpose of this paper is through studying the development of Sichuan province municipal districts, response and reveal the problems of urban development in Sichuan province, then provide some useful references for other provinces.In the study, this paper uses a literature review method, theoretical analysis, comparative study, interdisciplinary methods, and so on, comparative study of which focus on the use of this method is a research method.This article first formed in China and status of municipal districts to make a sum up, then obtained by comparison with the county's nature and characteristics of municipal districts, then sum up the history of Sichuan province, the evolution of municipal districts, summarized in several stages, on the basis of the development status of municipal district of Sichuan Province and features, analyze the problems and causes of the problem, re-learn some of the advanced experience of foreign countries, Sichuan province and municipal districts so as to provide some thinking, and then propose solutions to these problems and the future path of the development of municipal districts.Based on the four provinces and area problems and causes, paper presented at the last idea to solve these problems and measures, given after the development of municipal districts in Sichuan Choice. The article points out, should learn the advanced experience of foreign countries based on, combined with the specific circumstances of Sichuan province, depending on the situation of the municipal district of the city to set up and adjust to make different treatment. At the national level, urban area should be set as soon as possible standard specification, meanwhile, municipal and district governments to make clear terms of reference of the distribution requirements. Sichuan province, the Municipal districts set should be based on the development of the city itself to be, geographical factors and economic factors in particular need to consider the focus. Relations in dealing with urban issues, system should be divided in line with the principle of degree, unified and standardized administrative rights and municipal districts, to achieve regional balance, the purpose of urban balance.
