During the conversion from the traditional agricultural society to a modern industrial civilization, urbanization is an inevitable process and a socio-economic phenomenon. Urbanization is rich in connotation. It is not only the unity of population urbanization and urban modernization but also the concentration of economic elements to urban areas and expansion of modern civilization to rural areas.The concept of planning overall cities and countryside is introduced into the research of urbanization in this paper. Non-co-coordinated development of urban and rural areas hinders the process of urbanization in this policy environment, urbanization shows negative influence on the planning overall cities and countryside. This paper holds that the urbanization is an effective way to promote the planning overall cities and countryside. Meanwhile, the sustainable promotion of urbanization also needs the guidance of the planning overall cities and countryside which has become a guarantee for it.Chapter 1, is the introduction, it mainly state the conditions of relevant research in and outside China, the research contents and research ideology in the paper.Chapter 2, is about the "city and countryside overall plan" and the "urbanization" elementary theory research.Chapter 3, Sichuan urbanized process review and present situation analysis,Chapter 4, the city and countryside division dual system has restricted the Sichuan urbanization level enhancement and the city function displayChapter 5, the pattern and the countermeasure of advances the Sichuan urbanization in the city and countryside overall plan frame.
