This essay tries to indicate the impact of organization elements to the business through analyzing cases of two multinational companies. The definition of organization elements mentioned in this essay includes culture(a system of common values, believes and habbits, which interacts under a formal structure and finally creates behavioral norms), organization design elements(including task, structure, reward, decision making, information and people) and business strategies(a series of choice to decide the position of a company, so as to maintain the advantages for competition. It includes purpose of being, vision, values, operating principles, strategies for competition, goals, plans, measures and core capabilities for competitiveness). By the demonstration of using Organization Performance Model, indicate that HR practitioners can use the Organization Performance Model as an analysis tool to diagnose the organization, so as to help corporations achieve business goals by designing the organization, building the organization and developing the culture. Therefore, values of HR are emerged by the analysis of organization, intervention and transformation. It corrects the misunderstanding on HR work that "HR is Administration, serving employees". At the same time, it reminds HR practitioners that besides fundamental HR work, should also transform to be a consultant. The future direction of HR as a function is to become a business partner, instead of a baby sitter or a policeman.The essay is centered on the influence of organization elements to the business by a framework of Organization Performance Model. Firstly, it raises the question of what the good ways are to help us build the organization. Then it analyzes the commonalities of the two sampling companies in building the organization and the differences that are advantages and disadvantages with recommendations. Then it concludes the focus areas in building the organization in different stages, which can be used as a framework in analyzing how to build an organization that supports the business. Secondly, it introduces the organization performance model and how to use it as a tool. Thirdly, based on the organization performance model as the framework, the essay compares data to identify the sampling companies'performance gap in business results and meeting the needs of the business environment, and differences between strategies and the needs of the business situation, through an analysis on the cultural influence to the business results, the mutual relations between organization design elements and culture, and organization design elements deriving from operation strategies. Opportunities are identified and suggestions are provided. Lastly, the essay covers the application of the organization performance model in corporations. The conclusion is:1)A company must equip itself with the capability to meet the needs of the business environment that is constantly changing in order to be strong and long lasting;2)The alignment of operation strategies, organization design elements and culture is critical to ensure that the organization can deliver business results (business objectives and expectations of the business environment);3)High performing organization is the cornerstone of the long term development of corporation; 4) Application of relevant tools helps analyze the complicated relations between the organization and the business.The innovative result of the essay is applying the Organization Performance Model to analyze two large scale companies. The analysis found out advantages and identified opportunities in organization building and provided suggestions based on organization design and implementation, as well as the influence of culture to the organization and business. The analysis result provides a learning opportunity to private companies in terms of organization building and culture building. Moreover, the essay adjusted the analysis sequence of the organization performance model, to make it smoother and easier to understand.
