Since China joined the WTO, the banking sector has been full opened. Recently, the number of all kinds of financial institutions has been more than thirty thousand. In these institutions, the four state-owned banks, small and medium sized banks, city commercial banks, rural credit cooperatives, foreign banks and postal saving banks and other financial institutions engaged in a fierce competition. State-owned commercial banks under increasing competition, banks'vigor and vitality lies of continuous innovation, continue to introduce various financial products to the customers, in this process, high-quality staff will play a leading knowledge-based effect. Therefore, the competition among banks is actually the battle for the talent.China's financial industry development depends on attracting and retaining good employees, especially the knowledge workers who plays an important role in the development of the banks. China's state-owned banks as an important part in China's financial institutions, Its continuing operations and development are largely depend on knowledge workers. Whether having the knowledge worker is the key to win in the competition among the financial institutions.In recent years, the state-owned banks are facing a serious phenomenon of brain drain, especially the highly educated, middle-level cadre and other knowledge workers. The brain drain rate is rising year by year. According to incomplete statistics, in recent years, in 178 foreign banks about 60% of the senior managers and the backbones come from the state-owned commercial banks. Data shows that in recent years China's four state-owned commercial banks, brain drain is about 4.13 million, about more than 4,000 staff had resigned from the central bank. In ICBC from 1998 to 2001 the loss of high-level personnel accounted for the total number of 13%, highly educated people accounted for 33%, senior management personnel accounted for 34%, technical personnel accounted for 33%.In 1999 and 2000 the People's Bank left More than 60 people, most of them are educated people such as masters, doctors and so on.With the loss of the knowledge workers and other core staff, will surely bring great losses to the state-owned banks. These losses not only cause continuing negative effects and even some of them re macro and long-term. Such as the loss of knowledge workers will associated with the loss of key customers, and the profits may have great losses. Second, brain drain of the state-owned banks will further widen the gap between the state-owned banks and the foreign banks, which will make the state-owned banks at a disadvantage in the competition. What's more, the loss of knowledge workers will do causes same damage to the credibility of state-owned banks. With such competitive pressure, if the state-owned banks want to win in the competition, the first problem to solve is how to minimize the loss of knowledge workers.In our days, the knowledge worker is the key to the success, many domestic and foreign experts and scholars have given a great deal of attention on how to manage the knowledge workers. There are great differences between the Chinese and the western research areas. How to reduce the loss of knowledge workers of state-owned banks under the Chinese actual situation is particularly important.This article based on the theory of the motivation, analysis the current situation of the loss of knowledge workers in state-owned banks. Designed the survey and conducted the field interviews. Use the empirical research methods to explore the impact factors of the loss of knowledge workers in state-owned banks. Obtain the following conclusion, the influence factor of the loss of knowledge workers in state-owned bank descending order as follows: career development, welfare compensation, corporate culture, self-worth, job autonomy. The author give the view from three points:gender, age, education, use the independent samples t-test method and give the horizontal comparison of the sample, the results are very different.
