Research On Problems And Solutions Of Featured Industries Of Western Region

Western region is the important part of our economic development. and the economy got earth-change by the policy support of our country in the last few years. From 1952 to 1998,the GDP of western region had grown 117.3 times. By the ten years'western development strategy from 1998 to 2008,western GDP had grown 11.42%,it is higher than the national annual average which is 9.64%.But the economic gap is still keeping continuously expanding between western region and eastern region. I think these reasons have caused this situation: the eastern region has more advantages in factor development, such as capital advantages, policy advantages, regional advantages and so on. and which is more important is that these advantages would be there and play an important role for a long time in the eastern region, that means the western region can't copy the development model and industrial structure of the eastern region, or it will form a duplication of eastern region and can't form an effective industrial competitiveness. So the western region should focus on its own advantages, implement comparative advantage trategy, develop the featured industry to form their own competitive industries, featured industries, featured chain to get a special way in the competition, it can drive the upgrade and optimization of the local industrial structure, then it will promote the development of western economy and people's living standards.Featured industry is the advantages in resource, culture, technology, management, environment, talent and so on in a country's long-term development, and the core competitive industry or industrial clusters based and these advantages. Western region has excellent opportunities and conditions to develop featured industry. The opportunity contains the financial, invested policy to support western economy. The conditions means the featured resources only in western region. The key point is how to use and exploit these advantages reasonable and efficiently, and this is just the focal point of my thesis. I believe that in this age which values the brand as the most important factor, the primary development of featured industry is how to establish its own strong brand, then use the brand to develop and strengthen the featured industry.This thesis contains four parts in general. The first part is to introduce research background and status of this field, the research ideas of mine, and the innovation of this thesis. The second part focus on the content and features of the featured industry, the necessity and the possibility to develop the western featured industry. The third part is using the Feng Jie orange industry's development as an example to analyze the status of featured industrial development in our country. The fourth part is to elaborate the solutions and advices to the problem of the featured industry of western region. The last part is conclusion of this thesis.
