As the main producing areas of mushroom, Hubei Province has a very good foundation in mushroom production. The regionalization, intensification and large-scale of mushroom industry has taken shape. According to statistics, in 2009, the fresh mushroom products output of Hubei Province had reached 45 million tons; the output value reached 3.7 billion. The mushroom exports worth about 2100 million dollars, the exports value not only ranked first in agricultural exports of Hubei Province, but also continue to maintain the country's second leading position. However, there is still a large gap between Hubei Province and national advanced provinces in the mushroom industry's economic benefits and industrial level, and there is no absolute advantage in the country, maintaining the healthy development of mushroom industry in Hubei Province is also facing many difficulties and problems. In view of this, the paper takes the sustainable development of mushroom industry in Hubei Province as research topic, aiming to provide sustainable development for the mushroom industry reference for relevant planners and decision makers.Firstly, the paper integrated sustainable development theory and the characteristics of edible fungi industry, proposing the content of the sustainable development of mushroom industry. The content is that the sustainable development of mushroom industry should maintain the steady growth in productivity of mushroom industry, improving production and security, developing the rural economy and increase farmers income, improving rural landscape, making rational use of natural resources and maintain and improve agricultural ecological environment, aiming to meet the needs of present and future generations. Secondly, based on the analysis of the content and features of Mushroom industry's sustainable development and guided by the systems theory, the article divided the sustainable development system of the mushroom industry into five subsystems:resources support system, environmental support system, economic support system, population and social support system, institution and science support systems. Then, according to the design principles of indicator system, the paper selected specific indicators of each subsystem, designed a set of evaluation indicator system of mushroom industry sustainable development. Thirdly, the paper adopted AHP and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method to construct Fuzzy synthetic evaluation model of mushroom industry sustainable development. According to the analysis of actual situation in Hubei Province, the article used fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model to evaluate the level of mushroom industry's sustainable development in Hubei Province. The evaluation results showed that, the overall musnroom industry in Hubei Province is in a healthy stage of sustainable development, the resources support subsystem is at a relatively good level of sustainability, the environmental support subsystem and economic support subsystem are at the basic level of sustainability, the social support system and the institution and science support system are at a weak level of sustainability. Combined the mushroom industry development situation in Hubei Province and the evaluation results, the paper pointed out the existing contradictions anc problems in sustainable development of mushroom industry in Hubei Province. Finally, the paper put forward suggestions for sustainable development of mushroom industry in Hubei Province from the aspects of resources and environment, economy, society, institution and science, respectively. In the development of the resources and environment, we should protect forest resources, and make research on cultivation techniques of alternative material; explore Agriculture circulation model to improve the utilization of edible waste. In the measures of economic development, we should strengthen brand awareness to increase market share; and step up publicity efforts to guide and promote consumption. In the measures of social development, we should establish information network organizations of mushroom industry, and enhance the bridge linking role of industry associations. In the development of the system and the science, we should increase funding support for edible mushroom industry; strengthen the building efforts of quality standard system and inspection system; and increase investment in science and Technology, deepen the technology promotion.
