Empirical Studies On Farmers' Rice Technology Needs And Its Influencing Factors

Rice is the main food crop in China and even in the world, however, since the reform and opening-up, our rice planting area present digressive trend, which is the direct threat to China's grain security. Our rice output is better progressly, which mainly comes from technological progress bringing the rice yield, It is worth noting. However, the transforming rate of technological achievements in agriculture is lower, agricultural science and technology's contribution to agricultural growth is small, which is far below the advanced countries. In order to improve the situation, it is necessary to study the farmers' needs on rice technology, because farmers' needs on technology is the main motivation to promote agricultural technologies' production and spread. Because rice is our main food crop, this paper mainly analyzes the influence of agricultural factors on rice technology needs, and then put forward relevant policy suggestions.Based on the southwest four provinces for case study, namely Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan four provinces, firstly I analyze the four provinces' terrain characteristics, the essential characteristics of peasant households, and summarize the rice farmers'main technical requirements. The survey was involved in southwest four provinces eleven counties of 215 centres farmers, through the descriptive statistics, we discovered four provinces farmers southwest comparison of five kinds of urgent demand for new strains of rice technology sequencing technology, pest control technology, new fertilizers pesticide technology, irrigation technology and light simple cultivating technique. Among them for new technology and pest control technology needs reached more than 50%, farmers' various technical requirements are different because of their different regions, gender, age, received education degree, family income and rice area.In this paper the main body part is analysis of affecting factors on four provinces farmers' technology needs, by combining previous research and design, this paper questionnaire selects the four major categories, twenty indicators into regressors, namely basic characteristics, technical farmers induced factor, farmers willingness and message path and set up virtual variable according to provinces. In order to ensure the comprehensive research, the paper discusses four technology needs using Logistic model to make empirical analysis, I conclude that farmers basic characteristics, technical induced factor, farmers willingness and message path of rice technology needs have a certain degree of influence, in view of the different technologies, the influence factors on demand are different. In addition, various provinces of farmers have certain differences on various technical requirements.Finally, this paper summarizes conclusion through descriptive statistics analysis and empirical analysis and gives some policy Suggestions on the basis of this. This paper points that technology popularization should have specific aim ground undertakes, from point to an area, thus realizing extensive applications. Implementing land transfer is the important measure technology popularization, so we should transfer the land circulation to more demanding farmers' hands, Increase benefit policy efforts, and publicize these policies to increase farmer rice planting enthusiasm. Technical personnel should move to fields to increase farmer's engendered demonstration. Finally, we should promote related technologies according to the different terrain trend.
