Study On Regional Low-carbon Development Model

The problem of climate is being of great concern. In this international context, countries of the world are making efforts to solve the climate problem. China is a country with great carbon emission, and in recent years, China pays increasing attention to the importance of a low carbon economy. In 2009, Premier Wen Jiabao on the World Climate Conference in Copenhagen announced to the world that by 2020, our unit of GDP, will decrease by 40% - 50% in comparison with the carbon dioxide emissions of 2005. This raises new challenges to our country's economic and social development. To achieve this goal, low-carbon development model for the study is particularly important.This paper sets out from the the theory of low-carbon development, studies the concept of low-carbon economy and low-carbon city through related literature, sorts out a clear connotation of low-carbon development and summarizes the methods and results of current research in this area. After the study of the literature, this paper makes a systematic study of the regional low-carbon development model following the "Factors - Positioning - Objectives - Path". In the study of the low-carbon factors, structural equation modeling approach is used to build the model. According to the results of the model, important relationship is extracted and establish the basis for the localization. In the study of positioning the type of regional low-carbon development, two significant criteria for the classification are proposed and cluster analysis is used to arrive at a final combination of the two classification. In the path research, this paper takes Tianjin city for an example, first posits the type of low-carbon development according to the positioning standards and sets a goal of low-carbon development for Tianjin. At last, this paper designs low-carbon development path for Tianjin according to the result of study on the conditions of low-carbon development in Tianjin, which is also called the SWOT analysis of low-carbon development in Tianjin.
