In 2010, both of the China's auto industry production and sales have reached a new record, which is over 1800 vehicles. The rapid development of auto industry has been the driving force of auto steel sheet development. The clients of auto steel sheet are end-users of car manufacturers; they are familiar with the quality, price quotes and technical indicators. They also know well about the delivery, service and long-term supplying; for all auto manufacturers of auto steel sheet, they should carry on the "customer oriented" idea in the process of marketing development and customer maintenance; otherwise, it is easy for them to lose market share for some differential service.As the largest steel producer, Baosteel has always promoted the auto steel sheet as the "champion products". There are several links from the steel plant to the end user: the steel plant-the regional trading company-the regional processing centre-the end user. The send-users send their requirements to the regional processing centre, which come into being the purchasing request;the regional processing centre report the purchasing amount to the regional trading company, then the trading company report to the steel plant to produce. The steel coin will be sent to the regional processing center to be cut and then sent to the end-user.The writer is working in one of the regional processing centres. As a matter of fact, the competition is very intense in the auto steel sheet market. The quality of Baosteel's products is very good, but they don't have any price advantage. And the steel plant is in shanghai, there are many competitors in north market. So it is very difficult to start and expand business. Only by understanding the characteristics of each car factory in depth, can Baosteel expand the market share. That is the reason why the writer carrys out the marketing research of TBS auto steel sheet.This paper combines the development of auto industry and the practice of TBS auto steel sheet, and then do a specific research in the marketing strategy of TBS auto steel sheet. It defines the customer needs, breaks down the market category, and predicts the trend of TBS auto steel sheet.Hope that this paper can provide useful suggestions for the development of TBS auto steel sheet, lead it to obtain greater competitive advantage in the north region of China.
