In the area of knowledge economy, Human resources become the core competitiveness resources for the enterprise. The strategic understanding will help enterprise to form a cohesion workforce and motivate employees to work hard. As we all know, Promotion has important motivate effect for employees, however, as the speed up of organizations flatten and knowledge update, more and more employees have to face the situation of promotion stagnation, which will have a bad influence of the employee motivation. This article chooses the promotion stagnation employees as research objects to discuss the difference influence on employees motivation of the three types of promotion stagnation, and try to put promotion on the problem of motivating the promotion stagnation employees base on the research conclusion, and seek to make some helpful management suggestions to help enterprise to solve the problem of motivation the promotion stagnation employees.This thesis was divided into six chapters. Chapter 1 was mainly introduction which expatiated the background, significance, purpose, innovation and structural arrangements of this study. Chapter 2 was literature review about the promotion stagnation, mainly included the motivation effect of promotion, the Career Barriers, the response strategy of Career Plateau and the governance of Career Stagnation. Chapter 3 was the study design part, this part had presented a theoretical model and hypothesis, and introduced the situation of the questionnaire design and data acquisition. In the Chapter 4, through the effective data, this study tested all the hypothesis, and the test results showed that: (1) Demographic variables have important implications on whether employees are able to promote, this demographic variables included age, sex and educational background.(2) Lack of promotion opportunities have a strong negative impact on employees'organizational commitment and job satisfaction, and salary increases have very limited impart to eliminate the negative effects.(3) For the ability incompetent employees, promotion stagnation have a negative impact on employees'organizational commitment and job satisfaction, salary increases can partly eliminate the negative effects.(4) For the motivation lacking employees, promotion stagnation have little negative impact on employees'organizational commitment and job satisfaction, and salary increases can increase employees'job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Chapter 5 was put forward the conclusions of this study and the research limitations and future study directions. Base on the research conclusion, Chapter 6 has put forward some measures to motivate the promotion stagnation employees.
