Distribution Center Plan And Design For TH Company

Since the 1990s,the development of modern chain retailing of China has been more and more fast and in a larger-and-larger-scale. However, an inevitable problem, shortage of logistics management, which results of little knowledge of the importance of logistics and distribution, insufficient budget, low unified purchase rate and information system of ackward, has seriously impeded the further development of the whole industry. As the success of unified management of chain retailing largely depending on the distribution center, the key to solve the former problem is to build an efficient Distribution Center. In this way, not only would the daily work of chain stores be simplified,but also the benefit of the whole supply chain would be significantly improved, which means that the benefit of scale purchase would be much higher and the cost much lower.As one of the top 100 chain retailing corporations of China, TH company is developing rapidly in these years. In order to meet the demands of the modern logistics distribution such as many variaty, small batch, efficient distribution rate and multiple distribution and the needs of a powerful information system which can support the high standard logistics, I am assigned as the project manager to build a new distribution center for the company.Based on the planning theories and cases, I analysed the practice of TH company, which includes the internal reference and survey, and at last formed planning and design of our distribution center. Since this research combined both the theory and the practice, I find it deeply advanced my knowledge of this realm and I sincerely hope that it would be useful to other distribution centers.
