experienced three decades of rapid growth, the adjustment of industrial structure and employment structure has facilitated the economy in our country. On the one hand , changes in industry structure affect labor demand; especially the rising of new industries requires large number of laborers of high quality ;on the other hand, as the industrial structure is upgrading ,the adjustment of traditional industries leads to imbalances in employment structure, which is embodied in frictional unemployment and other issues.At present, the industrial structure has undergone upgradation and optimization,what"s more, the pressure of employment is increasingly growing Therefore, this paper is of great significance to study the relation between industrial structure and employment structure as well as explore the underlying reasons, providing theoretical fundmentals for the policy on industrial upgrading and employment.From this point, this paper takes the relation between industrial structure and employment structure as the research object,use the classical theory of the earlier western industrial structure and employment structure,analyzes the relationship between industrial structure and employment structure,and then, combined with the experience and characteristics of development of industrial structure and employment structure in developed country, the paper explores characteristics reflected in the development of industiral structure and employment structure from the perspective of empirical research. On the output level, the paper takes the industry labor productivity to measure the labor input efficiency, uses the constant value of production to analyze the relationship between industrial structure and employment structure; On the employment level, adopting the employment elasticity coefficients, quantitatively analyzes the ability of the three industries in China to improve employment; On the standard model of industrial structure, establishes the industrial structure model for China and compares the differences between the actual situation of China's industrial structure and the standard mode level. Finally, on the basis of internal relations between the industrial structure and employment structure, the thesis uses VAR model to examine the influence between China's industrial structure and employment structure when shocked by each other.This paper concludes that, due to the escalation of demand structure and technological progress, the adjustment of industrial structure has promoted the optimization of employment structure, meanwhile, the rational allocation of labor and enhancement of the human capital has promoted the continuous upgrading of industrial structure, especially in the industrial labor productivity.In addition, there exists the deviation between the industrial structure and employment structure which affects the employment growth,mainly reflected in the high proportion of secondary industry and lag in the tertiary industry. The improvement of labor productivity in service sector has not been a very positive impact on upgrading the industrial structure, but it proves that in the long term service sector has a great potential performance to promote development of labor transfer, and it will promote coordinated development between the industrial structure and the employment structure. Based on theoretical analysis and development experience in developed country, the paper analyzes the problems existing in the reality and propose some suggestions on upgrading of industrial structure and interaction between industrial structure and employment structure.
