Evaluation Research On Competitiveness Of China's Electric Power Generation Enterprises

Power industry is the fundamental pillar industry for a nation, it's of strategic significance for promoting national economic development, maintaining social stability, ensuring national security and improving the comprehensive competitiveness of the country. Along with the implementation of new power system reform, "power plants separated from electric network, competing electric price" brings about stresses, challenges to many Chinese electric power generation enterprises. Power system reforms plan had been approved by the State Council in April 11, 2003. The first step is introducing the market power to electric market, both the originally independent power generation enterprises and newly established power groups have to realize their own competitive advantages and disadvantages, participate in future market competition,.Especially in recent years, with the rising of low-carbon economy, concerning about the nuclear power, the rapid development of photovoltaic industry and power market oversupply, the electric power generation enterprises have to face the market competition in the future. Therefore, the electric power generation enterprises must prepare early in order to recognize their place in the industry position, and lay a good foundation for the next competition.This thesis firstly summarizes the development of the power system reforms, elaborates the realities and competitiveness characteristics of the power industry. Secondly, the thesis analyzes the main factors that influences the competitiveness of the electric power generation enterprises, selects comprehensive and rational evaluation index according to the principle of evaluation index. Thirdly, calculates the weight of evaluation index with AHP, then establishes the evaluation model of competitiveness of electric power generation enterprise, evaluates the competitiveness by grey correlation method. Finally, we can identify the core indexes of competitiveness of electric power generation enterprise by the evaluation results. It has reference value to the corporate decision makers in some degree.The thesis introduces that the electric power generation enterprises have to face the intense market competition in the future by importing the market power to electric market. We will get the gaps of competitiveness of the different electric power generation enterprise, it can provide theoretical and practical guidance to improve the competition ability of electric power generation enterprises and some helpful reference for the similar firms.
