Study On The Relationship Of Henan Rural Old-Age Insurance System And Economic Growth

Henan province is the one which has the most population in countryside. According to the data of the sample survey of population taken by the State Statistics Bureau , by the end of 2009, there were 6209 million rural population of Henan province, accounting for 62.3% of the province's population, including old age dependency ratio over 10%.Peasants are the principal part in Henan provincial modern agriculture and new rural construction. It will be an important realistic meaning to study the influence of the rural old-age insurance in Henan Province on the micro-decisions, such as the saving behavior of rural residents and rural human capital investment, and the influence on the Economic growth of Henan Province.The rural old-age insurance in Henan Province is not only an important part of Henan provincial social security system but also the focus of the social security studies.With the approval of the Civil Affairs Department and Henan Government officials in 1991, the Provincial Civil Affairs Department was the first to begin the experimental work on the rural old-age insurance in Ji Yuan, Xin Zheng and Chang Ge. The other parts of Henan Province have started the experimental work ever since.A perfect rural old-age insurance system not only shows the social justice, but also promotes the economic growth and embodies efficiency, which has profound influence.At beginning of this essay, the author gives a general introduction on the background, the meanings, the purposes and the methods of the research object and on the logic structure of the paper, hoping that readers will have a basic understanding and grasp of the essay.Meanwhile, the author reviews the results of theoretical research and the empirical analysis on the issue of the relationship of old-age insurance and economic growth.On that basis, combining the current revolution of the rural old-age insurance system, the author sets up a simple endogenous growth model, which provides a perspective on the research of the influence of rural old-age insurance in Henan to the economic growth.In addition, the author discusses the relationship between the rural old-age insurance investment and the economic growth in Henan based on the macro-economy data and the application of the econometrics analysis method.At the end of the paper, the author simply analyzes the successful experience and operation experience of the rural old-age insurance system in developed areas, which can be used as a reference for the revolution of the rural old-age insurance system in Henan. According to the empirical study, the author believes the rural old-age insurance investment has a positive effect to the economic growth though the effect isn't obvious. The author also puts forward some tentative policy recommendations.To a certain extent, the empirical analysis reveals the relationship between the rural old-age insurance investment and the economic growth in Henan Province, which fills the blanks of the researches in Henan Province.
