Iron ore is one of the most basic materials for industry, which is also imported mostly to China. Because of monopolize of 3 major iron ore company, Chinese steel company meet great loses during iron ore business. In order to solve this problem, Chinese steel company begin to get rid of control of 3 major iron ore company in two ways: on one hand, they began merge of iron ore company outside, especially in Africa, on the other hand they set up their own logistics system to control logistics cost.Guangdong R Company and Jiangsu H Company also set out for merge of iron ore company in Chile. As cooperate companion and logistics subcontractor of these two companies, Guangdong C Company set up a project team to research Chile--China logistics system. In this issue, I try to use multiple way of research to study all details of Chile--china iron ore logistics system, trying to find the best port and method for iron ore operation, from Chile to China, so that we can get a well operated logistics system.I began to study the system from the beginning of research on port. By investigation of port situation and using Analytic Hierarchy Process I can get the proper port of iron ore discharging in China. After that, by considering operation experience in China and project customer, I find a suitable way for chartering a vessel, both what kind of charter we sign and also which vessel we use. Also I study how to trans the iron ore via Yangzi river, by doing that we can get a suitable logistics system for iron ore.Generally speaking, this research base on situation of Chine--China logistics system of iron ore, and sophisticate theory, supply us with a well operated system for iron ore from Chile to China, which may be useful for our company in the market.
