Innovation Performance Of Open Innovation

With the rapid economic development and the increasing complexity of information technology, companies have been very difficult to rely solely on their ability to achieve sustained growth, "open" has become a new business innovation mindset. In the process of technological innovation, open innovation emphasize that while taking advantage of internal and external resources to achieve innovation. Whether it was able to enhance creativity (New perspectives, new ideas......), or hinder the development of creativity (Refuse to share good ideas, the risk of excessive open......)? In the relationship between open innovation and innovation performance have important regulatory factors. In this knowledge as the mainstay of knowledge-based economy, whether companies can significantly improve the innovation performance, the key is knowledge governance mechanism. A sound knowledge governance mechanisms can take advantage of "global knowledge source", and response to the possession risk and conflict of interest between the main source of knowledge reasonably. The lack of knowledge governance mechanisms, may lead to an inability to control or prevent the conflict during the process of innovation knowledge sharing and using. Resulting in open innovation behavior distorted, or even complete failure. Therefore, the urgent need for effective governance mechanism to guide the conduct of knowledge management, to reduce the risk of intellectual activity, maintaining balance between the interests of all intellectual activity, and promote optimal efficiency of intellectual activity.Knowledge governance is an important moderator in the "open innovation-innovation performance" relationship. However, little research analysis the impact of open innovation on innovation performance from the perspective of knowledge governance. This question is still a lack of in-depth empirical research.Based on this, the study from the perspective of empirical analysis, based on theoretical studies to explore the impact of knowledge governance on the relationship between openness and innovation performance. First, basis of literature review, analysis the content and dimensions of knowledge governance under open innovation deeply, and develop the knowledge governance measurement scale use of deductive method. Secondly, Propose the relational model and research hypotheses of openness, knowledge governance and innovation performance. Third, using the large sample survey research methods, statistical methods such as regression analysis to explore the impact of knowledge governance mechanism on "openness-innovation performance" relationship. And the proposed research model and hypotheses were verified. Conclusion of the study are as follows:(1) The knowledge governance mechanisms with open innovation includes knowledge sharing mechanisms and knowledge possession mechanism. These two dimensions are in accordance with the dilemma which is faced by companies with open innovation and they are effective measures for getting those companies out of dilemma.(2) Open breadth and open depth have a significant positive effect on innovation performance, which means an increase in openness to innovation and improving the innovation performance.(3) Knowledge sharing mechanisms is an important moderator in the "open innovation-innovation performance" relationship. The more perfect the knowledge-sharing mechanisms, the openness impact on the innovation performance more significant.(4) Knowledge possession mechanism is an important moderator in the "Open depth-innovation performance" relationship. But the hypothesis that knowledge possession mechanism is an important moderator in the "Open breadth-innovation performance" relationship has not been verified. Probably because of the open breadth of China's enterprises is still very low. The focus is often on how to access to knowledge, sharing knowledge better, ignoring the importance of mechanisms in possession of knowledge. Thus, in the open breadth of the impact on innovation performance, the possession of knowledge is not obvious.In this paper, study the relationship of openness and innovation performance from the perspective of knowledge governance, reveals the "black box" between open innovation and innovation performance. Not only further deepen the connotation of open innovation and mechanism research, develop open innovation and knowledge governance related research, and to some extent, can clarify the shortcomings and the crux of our corporate practice in open innovation. This is useful for business innovation, and it has important practical significance in enterprise's knowledge governance and innovation.
