With the acceleration of international economic integration, large enterprises tend to be collectivizing, which enhance enterprises competitiveness, as well as increase projects. Chinese large-scale construction enterprises have set in a cross-regional multi-project development mode, on one hand, it brings unlimited business opportunities to the enterprise, on the other hand, the rapid expansion and development of the enterprise business segment brings challenge to multi-project management. How should headquarter combine the project management objectives and corporate strategic objectives and maximize the benefits is an urgent problem. Traditional project management theory and methods are limited to single project goal, lacking of attention to the overall objective of the multi-project management. To adjust the existing project management processes and methods re-set the organizational structure and resource allocation is significant for improving efficiency and maximizing the benefits when there are several projects under construction.Firstly, this thesis focuses on research of multi-project management home and abroad, summarizes hotspot in multi-project management field, analyses the urgent issues in the multi-project management process, and puts up solutions for specific issues. Then about research on multi-project process optimization based on actual situation of the domestic large-scale construction enterprises, the usage of value chain theory, combined with the Porter value chain model. On this basis, multi-project management processes will be optimized. It will be finally proved feasible with the empirical analysis of the Z Group. At present, the theoretical study on multi-project management process for group companies are relatively rare since multi-project management application is still at an experimental stage and especially the application of multi-project management processes is a mess. I hope this thesis will play a role in promoting multi-project management theory and bring some practical application of the multi-project management.
