In recent years, Chinese private enterprises with the rapid development have played a crucial role in the wave of economic development, and have become an important force for promoting economic development. But the biggest problems faced by private enterprises are not capital, product and market, but how to build an effective performance management system to attract and retain talent, to maximize the effectiveness of human resources. It has become a very important issue to apply modern advanced performance management theory, establish scientific and reasonable performance management system to arouse the enthusiasm of their staff, enhance staff performance, department performance, and enterprise performance, in order to achieve the operational objectives and development strategies of private enterprises, enhance core competitiveness of private enterprises,.Company A is a private enterprise specialized in the wood floor manufacture and sale. It combines floor research and development, design, production, marketing, logistics and distribution, installation and after-sales service. Company A with its five major factories is located in Shenyang, Liaoning province. The company was founded in 2001, and has been in continuous operation for more than 10 years, but its management system is still incomplete with various problems. It lacks long-term, strategic vision, its performance assessing system is too simple, only focusing on financial management indicators, while ignoring others, and it has no comprehensive performance management model.The article is organized in accordance with the thinking of presenting problems, analyzing problems and solving problems. By the analysis of Company A's performance management and its problems, during the design of its performance target system, I apply KPI, BSC and other modern performance management theory and methods in human resources management to design a realistic performance management system.The article is divided into five chapters. ChapterⅠ, Introduction, which describes the research background and its significance, the current situation of domestic and international research, research methods and main content. ChapterⅡ, Summary of the Principles of Performance Management, which introduces the most advanced theories and methods of performance, performance evaluation and performance management. ChapterⅢ, an analysis to Company A's performance management development and its problems. In this section, the article points out the problems existing in the corporate performance management, and detailed analysis of the causes of these problems. ChapterⅣ, Construction of Company A's performance management system. Against the current existing problems, design a new, viable performance management system, which is the core content of the article. ChapterⅤis Conclusions.
