Dalian Port, The Fourth Generation Of Port Development Strategy

Transformation of the social and economic development is a great changes process, which involves economy, society, politics, culture and the people's way of thinking and way of living. The port upgrade is one of the key in social and economic upgrade. In "The Eleventh Five-Year plan" period, China's ports have ranked firstly of the world's ports based on the capacity of through or throughput. China's port has developed from insufficient capacity to port structure transition period with adequate capacity in large scale, specialization, modernization and network.Based on the theory of fourth generation port, port strategic management, aim at the characteristics of port industry, this thesis make comprehensive analysis on Dalian Port development and function adjustment in the internal and external environment. The regression analysis, correlation coefficient, SWOT method is used to analysis port enterprises, governments, corporate's responsibility and mission. It is proposed that the fourth generation port's function development of the core port in Dalian Port Group, and the strengths and threats, opportunities and weaknesses then make the strategic matching. It is realized in this thesis that the feasibility and choices for developing the fourth generation port in Dalian Port Group. According to the Dalian Port Group's overall development strategy and the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" requirement, the development goals, key points, basic countermeasures and the strategic measures are proposed, which strengthen the fourth-generation implementation of Dalian Port is a major strategic project, requires strong support from government.
