The state-owned remainder enterprise, which arised in the 1990s, is a unique product under the circumstance of the specific history that China's economic system shunts to a new model. In order to link with financing on the stock matket, China's state-owned enterprises, especially some large and medium-sized state-owned enterprises adopted separation restructuring program, stripped off the original core business and related assets of state-owned enterprises, then restructured and went public. And the unlisted assets and remaining business in the original enterprise composed the state-owned remainder enterprise. However, these programs also concentrated problems faced by state-owned enterprises into the state-owned remainder enterprises, so that the existence and development of the remainder enterprises are more difficult. As a result, the state-owned remainder enterprises lacked the ability of sustainable development.With the development and integration of the global economy, the domestic enterprises are confronted with the increasingly fierce competition that from both domestic and international environment. The state-owned remainder enterprise, which is a unique product under the reforming of China's state-owned enterprises, the success of its development is directly related to the success of the reforming of state-owned enterprises. Therefore, the research on state-owned remainder enterprise's sustainable development has an important practical significance.At the same time, the study of entrepreneurial activity has gradually shifted from individual poineering to internal corporate entrepreneurship. The existing enterprises launched corporate entrepreneurship inorder to cope with the challenge of market conditions, exploring new profucts or businesses, hatching new industries and enhancing company's core competitiveness and profitability, so that enterprises have full capacity for its future sustainable development.This paper uses the method of longitudinal case study and theories of corporate entrepreneurship to analysis the development process of a representative state-owned remainder enterprise called Dongqi Investment & Development Co., Ltd. It refines experiences that benefit for state-owned remainder enterprises'sustainable development through studying the corporate entrepreneurship and activities of hatching new industries of the company's development process.The survival and development problems that the state-owned remainder enterprise confronted with are common problems that widespread in reforming and restructuring programme of China's state-owned enterprises. This paper studies the corporate entrepreneurship and activities of hatching new industries in order to explore experiences for the state-owned remainder enterprises'sustainable development.
