Yunnan cuisine is the general name of 25 minorities and Han Chinese dishes in Yunnan province.As an important part of China's cooking, Yunnan cuisine is famous for its heavy sense of history, distinct national characteristic and diversified tastes. Nature, history, nation, art and health are inherent in the food culture of Yunnan cuisine, and made Yunnan cuisine as an indispensable proportion in Yunnan's culture.Yunnan cuisine catering has very close relationship to Yunnan's tourism. Therefore, the development of Yunnan cuisine is not only important to Yunnan's catering, but also important to promote Yunnan's tourism. Based on the summarizing of previous literature, this paper gives a defined concept of Yunnan cuisine, catering, tourism, catering resources and tourism resources, etc. Due to the development lag of Yunnan cuisine, this paper focused on the current problems of developing Yunnan cuisine, and analyzed the interactive development between Yunnan cuisine and Yunnan's tourism by using the SWOT method, and put forward the idea which was taken the ninth major cuisine of China as the strategic objective of developing Yunnan cuisine. From the perspective of the development of tourism, this paper advanced basic principle, ideas and policy proposal of developing Yunnan cuisine.
