City is the center of economic region, but also the center of spiritual and material wealth production, accumulation and dissemination , more importantly, it's the important symbol of human society civilization progress. Level of urbanization is the important indicators of measuring the urbanization degree of a region, but also the important indicators of reflecting regional economic and social development. It's the important link that objective evaluation of urbanization level and the formulation of urban development strategy are correctly measured .it's for the government to choose the right development model of urbanization, the development of rational policies and measures to lay a good foundation. This article focuses on the process of urbanization in the index system was constructed to make the relevant study. Through quantitative analysis, considering the urban population, geographic space, economic, social the four aspects, the establishment of regional urbanization level for measuring the index system. At the same time, the use of normalized R-factor analysis and factor analysis method to Chengdu from 2000 to 2009, the urbanization level of 17 factors affect the analysis and research, measure the level of urbanization in Chengdu composite indicator or index, while the method comparative analysis, and as a basis for China's urbanization index system and make recommendations in Urban development, better promote the process of urbanization. This article is a total of nine chapters. Among them, the first chapter which dealt with the topic of this article the background, purpose and meaning, and reorganizing the index system on urbanization and abroad related research. Chapter by way of literature review, and further clarify the process of urbanization on the concepts, characteristics and basic theory, including the city, urbanization, urbanization level and pace of urbanization concept. The third chapter is by consulting relevant literature, identified research related to urbanization theory method, through the understanding of the urbanization process and related theories, to pave the way for the next research. The fourth chapter is paving the way through the first three chapters of the theory, to Chengdu, for example, using normalization factor analysis, the city of Chengdu to measure the process of analysis; is a Case Study of the same chapter, the use of R-type factor analysis of the city of Chengdu to measure the process of analysis. Chapter two methods is through the integrated index value and the composite index value, the data is analyzed and compared. Chapter VII summarizes the first of the composite indicator system to establish own superiority, and then analyze their own lack of description. Chapter VIII established by analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of urbanization index system is proposed to further improve the urbanization index system, and actively promote the recommendations of the urbanization process in Chengdu. This innovation is possible: with the current index system of China's urbanization content, from a single indicator approach to the target population is not clear composite index method to improve the process of urbanization own a set of index system, and through the system, the use of normalization factor analysis and R-factor analysis of urbanization in Chengdu analysis, make up for the inaccuracy of the single indicator method and previous method in the composite index of indicators of uncertainty, the lack of methods sex, this composite index, the index system more comprehensive consideration to overcome the one-sidedness of a single index, which can also be the proportion of urban population and urbanization level of the two concepts are considered separately. In addition, the use of the composite evaluation index system for the level of urbanization, cities can be more intuitive to find the weak links in the process, the development strategy for the city to provide a valuable reference.
