In the work process of the electric submersible pump (ESP), with the influence of thereservoir pressure, fluid production and moisture content, the ESP’s actual workingconditions can’t match with the original design, which makes it in the inefficient workstate, resulting in a greater energy and economic loss. Therefore, the electric submersiblepump well system’s operation optimization and design optimization is of greatsignificance to improve the system efficiency and energy saving. In this paper, electricsubmersible pump system efficiency model is established based on the theory ofmultiphase flow. In order to make the electrical submersible pump system have a highefficiency, the highest system efficiency is taken as the objective function and thecalculation model of the system efficiency is established. At the same time the optimizedesign of the electric submersible pump wells is made. The main content in this paperincludes:The pipeline characteristic curve and the effective power of the multiphase flowsimulation model of the electric submersible pump system is established, and on this basis,the system simulation model of input power and the efficiency of the system is establishedtoo.Simulation results show that:the submersible electric pump well wellbore multiphaseflow has significant effect on the lift height and efficiency of the system,it’s necessary toapply the multiphase flow model to improw the test method of the electrical submersiblepump wells effective lifting height and the efftctive power.Considering the relationship among the reservoir inflow characteristic curve,wellbore multiphase pipe flow characteristic curve and electric submersible pumpcharacteristic curve, the simulation model between the efficiency of submersible electricpump well system and nozzle diameter, power frequency is established. Taking the nozzlediameter and power frequency as design variables, taking the highest system efficiency asthe objective function, considering the flow pressure, oil pressure, submergence, andresonance as the constraint, the operation optimization model of the electric submersiblepump system is established. The method of the“Interval division, successiveapproximation”is taken for the optimization and the variation of system efficiency with the design variables is got.Based on the for-production coordination principle, taking the tubing inner diameter,pump, series, the depth of pump, submersible motor parameters as design variables, takingthe highest system efficiency as the objective function, considering the pump size,submergence, the depth of pump, the series of the electric submersible pump, liquidsproduction, nozzle diameter, resonance and so on as the constraint, the optimizationmathematical model of the electric submersible pump production system to optimize thedesign is established.
