Cases-based TIG Welding CAPP System was designed in order to solve the problems,such as low level of production automation, unfocused data management, difficultshaving data information and information re-utilization etc., Which are existing in theproduction process of TIG Welding Technology for Aeronautical Enterprise. Thus, It ispossible to study and develop in the paper. A brief introduction to the project and itsmain achievements are as follows.(1)The System User commands, design principle and architecture have beensummarized and determined. At same time, The key techniques have been proposed:①T heWelding database is implemented in Oracle10g;②According to the differentproposes of User commands, two process design patterns which are based on instancesand wizards.(2)A TIG Welding Database Management System have been built, it enables theengine to welding data information management. The advantage of this method is thatits ability to divide the whole case-base into several subspace so as to limit the search-ing bounds and improve the independence of the data.(3)According to the achieved models, the Welding Procedure Management systemis developed on the platform of Windows XP Operating System with Visual C++basedon C/S structure. The system provides users the engine–related soldering informationbrowsing, querying, printing etc. At same time effective link between instances andwizards design.(4)With different targets and different users needs, the system establishes twoprocess design patterns which are based on instances and wizards. The instance designfocus on improving the portability of knowledge, it’s of reference value of designs forthe similar process instances. Easy and convenient; Wizard design extends to newmaterials, new processes and designs without similar process instances for reference. Atthe same time, instance design improves the design efficiency for technicians, theperfect combination of instance design and wizard design increases progressive andflexibility of the system.
