For the current needs of non-source environmental control system in the field of mine rescue,infrastructure, underground and civil engineering, this paper provides theoretical design andtechnology application of non-source environmental control system for confined space. Thetheoretical design part is elaborated on passive environmental control system components, of whichthe cooling part has comprehensive analysis of a variety of throttle conditions, finding the mostsuitable method for carbon dioxide refrigeration, and carries out a detailed design and calculationfor carbon dioxide refrigeration system; the air purification part mainly compares the advantages anddisadvantages of major purification methods of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide, finding themost suitable method for non-source cooling. Meanwhile a united refrigeration and purificationmachine is established in this paper. In the field of technology application, the non-sourceenvironmental control system is applied to the field of underground rescue, an environmental controlsystem for KJYF-96/12mine refuge chamber as well as single and comprehensive protection test.Moreover, it also carries out the environmental control system development, putting its application tothe field of refuge room. This paper provides reference value for the development of China’s minerefuge field.
