Hobbing machine occupies an important position in China’s manufacturing andprocessing industries and promotes the rapid development of China’s manufacturingindustry as well as the entire national economy. But, now because the technology of thedomestic hobbing machine is backward, development is slow, and the level ofintelligence is not high, so it can’t meet the requirements of the development of ourcountry’s manufacturing at this stage, and can’t meet the development of theinformation strategy of the manufacturing enterprise. This requires hobbing machine tocontinuously improve the overall level of manufacturing. As the rapid development ofthe network technology, automation technology and the of intelligent reasoningtechniques, the networking and intelligent manufacturing is development direction ofthe hobbing machine and even the entire machine tool industry,and multi-function embedded terminal system can help hobbing machine finish thenetworking and intelligence capabilities. Aimed to improve the manufacturing level ofthe hobbing machine, the paper studies the supporting platform of the terminal systemand key technologies.Firstly, the paper explains the hobbing machine’s current situation that containsthe backwardness of the intelligence, lack of independent intellectual property rights,heavily dependence on imports, and the networking and intelligence having animportant role on the entire manufacturing sector of my country. Then the paperanalyzes the requirements of the information and function of the hobbing machine, putsforward the framework of the supporting platform of the terminal system, and describesit detailed.Then, the paper importantly studies the framework of supporting platform and thekey technologies. The key technologies include: data storage technology, dataacquisition technology, data management technology, network supporting technology,and human-computer interaction technology.Next, based on analyzing the framework and key technologies of terminal system’ssupporting platform of hobbing machine, first, setting up the terminal system’shardware platform, then transplanting the embedded operating system according to thehardware platform, and finally finishing the development and implementation of the keytechnology, which will be called by the application program in the form of interface (API) in order to achieve the networking and intelligent functions of the hobbingmachine.Finally, developing the prototype system, and running on hobbing machine ofsome gear manufacturing enterprises of Chongqing. Production quality and theproduction efficiency can be improved, the physical and mental strength can be reduced,and the network and intelligent target of the hobbing machine can be realized.
