With the development of Science and Technology, the demanding for high-endproducts in the field of aviation, aerospace, machinery, electronics and otherindustrial are increasing. The traditional process is unable to meet the requirements.ECM has been rapidly developed and widely applied in the past fifty years for itsoutstanding advantages.DJK3280horizontal NC ECM machine with three-axes is used in processingcomplex cavity and surface. According to the requirements of machine tool, thefeatured and reliable PLC control system has been designed in this paper. Thedetailed work of design is described as follows:(1) Based on the completely understanding of the characteristics andequipment of ECM, the paper has analysised DJK3280machine’s control functionand designed the control scheme.(2) Designing the hardware circuit of control system according to the controlscheme. Selecting the suitable PLC, servo motor and its drive, and other electricalparts according to the requirements of the hardware circuit.(3) Completing the installation of control cabinet and the production of controlbox according to the requirements of hardware circuit.(4) Completing the program of PLC and touch screen according to modulardesign concept,and conducting online debugging.Testing the function andreliability of control system.The paper has designed the executive devices using servo system which canfeed back with encoder and the precise control of DJK3280ECM machine tool canbe realized. The control system has high stability and practical value.
